Who’s Live Today?

The Amazing Lorenzo Landini

The amazing Lorenzo Landini is a Philadelphia based songwriter and folk rock act by way of Florence, San Diego, and yes, NYC. A prolific tunesmith, Lorenzo is touring and promoting his new record (and first vinyl issue) “radical, or, all the good revolutionaries are dead (cuz we killed them)” which UK music blog Various Small Flames just praised as “a howl of despair, a statement of intent, and a timely reminder of the power of collaboration and community” Backed in his band by dear friends and collaborators, the formerly solo and acoustic project has electrified and swelled to become a real live rock and roll party. An ardent Liverpool supporter, Lorenzo always loves returning to his favorite lil boozer in the world, the 11th Street Bar, and playing for the friends and community where his songwriting took shape.

The Amazing Lorenzo Landini brings his touring folk-rock project to 11th St Bar in support of radical, or, all the good revolutionaries are dead (cuz we killed them), his new record and first vinyl issue. Once a solo acoustic project, Landini now performs with a band of friends and collaborators, turning the songs into what the venue describes as “a real live rock and roll party.” It is a return to a room he calls his favorite boozer, where his songwriting took shape among friends and community.

Philadelphia-based, Landini arrived there by way of Florence, San Diego and New York City. He is described as a prolific tunesmith, and his work has drawn praise for its writing as much as its arrangements. Various Small Flames hears “sincerity and playfulness” in his songs, along with “distinctively inventive lyricism”; of the current record, the blog calls it “a howl of despair, a statement of intent, and a timely reminder of the power of collaboration and community.” BuffaBLOG has similarly found “a cathartic release” and “a sense of clarity and closure” in his music.

A basement club in the East Village, 11th St Bar is a steady fixture for live music, hosting regular house band sets and long-running residencies. The room is a modest space where the audience sits on wooden benches, close enough to hear every note from the front row. Shows typically run from 8:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with multiple sets and a relaxed, conversational atmosphere. The bar is present, offering drinks to accompany the music, and the evening is a night out where people listen, talk, and share in the energy of the performers. It's a place where local musicians play with authenticity and warmth, and the audience is there to experience the music, not just watch it.
