Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Friends
City Winery NYCHudson River Park Esplanade, New York 10014
Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Friends comes to City Winery’s Main Stage for a fundraiser built around New Orleans jazz and soul. The band will be joined by the performer billed by the venue as the “Soul Queen of New Orleans” for a special evening, though the guest’s name has not been announced in the listing. Proceeds support the Preservation Hall Foundation and its work to preserve, protect and perpetuate New Orleans music and the culture bearers who sustain it.
The Preservation Hall Jazz Band has carried New Orleans music for more than 65 years. The group stands for a tradition shaped by the Crescent City, where sounds and cultures from around the world have converged, mingled and emerged transformed. Its work is rooted in the history it was founded to preserve, while treating that history as living material rather than a museum piece. This fundraiser places that long-running mission alongside a guest-led meeting of jazz and soul, with the Foundation’s cultural work directly at the heart of the night.
City Winery at Pier 57 is a restaurant winery with live music on an intimate stage, offering a full evening experience that combines dinner, wine, and live music. The venue features two performance spaces: a seated 350-seat concert hall and a smaller 150-capacity loft space, with a 100-seat restaurant including a pizza bar and coffee roasting station. Guests enjoy views of the Hudson River and Pier 57, located in Chelsea on Manhattan’s west side, near Chelsea Market. The intimate setting allows audiences to experience performances up close in a seated environment, with a diverse lineup including national touring artists, singer-songwriters, jazz musicians, and comedy shows.
