Strawberry Fields brings its theatrical Beatles tribute to City Winery NYC. Four musicians, including former cast members of Broadway’s Beatlemania, trace the Beatles’ catalog in chronological order: from the early hits through Sgt. Pepper, The White Album, Abbey Road and Let It Be. Costumes, vintage instruments and period amplification are part of the production, framing the performance as a live journey through the group’s changing sound.
The tribute act’s sources do not state where it is based, but describe a group that has performed around the world and held an 18-year Beatles Brunch run at BB King’s in Times Square. Strawberry Fields says it is the only Beatles tribute band to have played Shea Stadium, Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park, CitiField and Prudential Center Arena, and it has shared appearances with Steve Holly, Billy J. Kramer, Tony Sheridan and Pete Best. Time Out noted that the band “goes so far as to use the same equipment the Beatles used, from amplifiers to guitars.” A BroadwayWorld review quoted by the band calls it “still going strong after three decades.”
City Winery at Pier 57 is a restaurant winery with live music on an intimate stage, offering a full evening experience that combines dinner, wine, and live music. The venue features two performance spaces: a seated 350-seat concert hall and a smaller 150-capacity loft space, with a 100-seat restaurant including a pizza bar and coffee roasting station. Guests enjoy views of the Hudson River and Pier 57, located in Chelsea on Manhattan’s west side, near Chelsea Market. The intimate setting allows audiences to experience performances up close in a seated environment, with a diverse lineup including national touring artists, singer-songwriters, jazz musicians, and comedy shows.
