Yvonne Rogers brings her quartet to this online first set: Rogers on piano, with Stéphane Clément on trumpet, Henry Fraser on bass and Jonas Esser on drums. The group will play new work, including music from Rogers’s Odes project, whose pieces draw on each member’s musical habits, rituals and timbres.
A pianist and composer from coastal Maine now based in Brooklyn, Rogers has led this quartet since 2024. Its debut album, Brackish, is due from Intakt Records in January 2027. Her solo album The Button Jar, produced by Kris Davis, appeared on Pyroclastic Records, and she has also recorded with the experimental electronic collective My Trio.
The Jazz Gallery offers a focused listening room experience on the fifth floor of a Midtown office building, where the audience gathers to hear progressive jazz performed by emerging and established artists. The space is designed to highlight the music without distractions: seating is arranged to bring listeners close to the performers, fostering a direct connection with the sound. There is no food service, but a bar is available, and ticket prices are modest, encouraging accessibility. Shows typically run from 7 to 11 pm on select nights, featuring multiple sets that invite deep engagement rather than casual socializing.
