Distant Cousins & Gelf

Distant Cousins, Gelf

City Winery NYCHudson River Park Esplanade, New York 10014

Distant Cousins and Gelf share the bill at The Loft at City Winery NYC. Distant Cousins perform as a trio: Duvid of the Moshav Band, Dov of Blue Fringe, and comedian and activist Ami Kozak. Their set is built around close harmonies and heartfelt lyrics, with the group drawing on a deep Jewish musical lineage. Gelf, the professional name of singer-songwriter Yoni Gelfand, brings his own blend of gospel rock worship and Jewish music to the evening.

Distant Cousins have toured with Matisyahu, who called their single “8 Lights” “a Chanukah hit!” Their songs have also been featured in film and television, while Atwood Magazine described the trio as “the needle in modern folk music’s haystack.” Gelf is from Monsey, New York, and has performed for audiences worldwide. Alongside a growing presence in the Jewish wedding scene, he has developed a live and digital following, including a sold-out 2024 headline show at The Bowery Electric and more than 40,000 monthly Spotify listeners.

City Winery at Pier 57 is a restaurant winery with live music on an intimate stage, offering a full evening experience that combines dinner, wine, and live music. The venue features two performance spaces: a seated 350-seat concert hall and a smaller 150-capacity loft space, with a 100-seat restaurant including a pizza bar and coffee roasting station. Guests enjoy views of the Hudson River and Pier 57, located in Chelsea on Manhattan’s west side, near Chelsea Market. The intimate setting allows audiences to experience performances up close in a seated environment, with a diverse lineup including national touring artists, singer-songwriters, jazz musicians, and comedy shows.
