Burnett Thompson Trio is billed at Mezzrow in Manhattan on November 30. The night is presented as a trio performance, with no individual performers or additional guests named in the available event details. No record release, tribute, residency, late set, or other special program is specified for the engagement. Mezzrow’s calendar places the group in its basement listening room, where the focus is on the musicians’ playing and their interaction as a small ensemble.
The act is identified in the billing as Burnett Thompson Trio. Beyond that billed name and trio format, the available information does not give a hometown, personnel, repertoire, musical background, previous collaborators, recordings, or critical notices for the group. It also does not identify which musician named Burnett Thompson leads the ensemble, or whether the billing refers to a fixed working band or a project assembled for this date. What is clear is that this is a small-group appearance in a venue devoted to jazz performance, with the evening’s details centered on the trio rather than on an announced theme or supporting cast.
Mezzrow offers a focused jazz listening experience in a compact, basement setting where the audience is close enough to catch every subtle note and interaction among musicians. The room features a bar serving drinks but no full kitchen, encouraging guests to settle in for the music rather than a meal. Shows typically have two sets in the evening, with ticketing recommended to secure a spot in this popular venue. The vibe is attentive and respectful, with seating arranged to maximize the connection between performers and listeners. After the sets, the night often extends into late hours with vinyl sessions or jam sessions, making it a place where jazz lives beyond the scheduled performances. This venue is part of a foundation supporting jazz artists, ensuring a vibrant, ongoing presence in Manhattan's music scene.
