Who’s Live Today?

The Jazz Gallery ONLINE Presents Yvonne Rogers Quartet // Live Stream, 2nd Set

The Jazz Gallery1160 Broadway, New York 10001

For its second streamed set, the Yvonne Rogers Quartet plays new music, including selections from Rogers’s Odes. The pieces are directly inspired by the musical habits, rituals and timbres of the individual band members. Pianist-composer Rogers is joined by Stéphane Clément on trumpet, Henry Fraser on bass and Jonas Esser on drums. The quartet has been playing together since 2024, with its debut album, Brackish, due from Intakt Records in January 2027.

Rogers is a coastal Maine-born, Brooklyn-based pianist and composer whose work centers improvisation, play and curiosity. She has also worked with Ingrid Laubrock’s Lilith, Adam O’Farrill’s Elephant and Alden Hellmuth’s Good Intentions. Paul Acquaro of The Free Jazz Collective calls her a “Fresh, new voice on piano.”

The Jazz Gallery offers a focused listening room experience on the fifth floor of a Midtown office building, where the audience gathers to hear progressive jazz performed by emerging and established artists. The space is designed to highlight the music without distractions: seating is arranged to bring listeners close to the performers, fostering a direct connection with the sound. There is no food service, but a bar is available, and ticket prices are modest, encouraging accessibility. Shows typically run from 7 to 11 pm on select nights, featuring multiple sets that invite deep engagement rather than casual socializing. The venue’s commitment to artistic growth is evident in its support for new compositions and collaborations, making an evening here a chance to witness jazz as a living, evolving art form in a setting that respects both the musicians and the audience.
