David Broza – Not Exactly Xmas 31st Anniversary | Live with 12 Musicians & Choir
City Winery NYCHudson River Park Esplanade, New York 10014
David Broza marks the 31st anniversary of his Not Exactly Xmas show with a one-time performance alongside 12 musicians and a choir. The program combines greatest hits with selections from his TEFILA project, which premiered at Temple Emanu-El in New York and reimagines Shabbat prayer through compositions spanning pop, jazz, gospel, folk and classical.
The Israeli singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Haifa and shaped by years in Spain and England, works across Hebrew, Spanish and English. His music draws on Spanish flamenco, American folk, rock and poetry; his 1977 song “Yihye Tov” became an Israeli peace anthem. Relix has called his guitar playing “disciplined but fluid and acrobatic.”
