Blindspot Release Show

Soapbox Gallery636 Dean Street, New York 11238

Pamela Laws marks the release of Blindspot, the first single from her forthcoming album, in a trio set with guitarist Thad DeBrock and drummer and percussionist Konrad Meissner. The single was co-written in Nashville with Jeff Trott, associated with Sheryl Crow, and Jeff Cohen, associated with Josh Groban. DeBrock and Meissner bring experience playing with artists including Graham Nash, Judy Collins, Katy Perry, Ari Hest and the Mammals. Expect Laws’ songs presented with guitar, drums and percussion at the center of the release-night performance.

Laws grew up on the Northern California coast and later moved to New York to pursue her solo work. Before that move, she made two albums with her band Seven Day Diary for Warner Bros./Reprise, after Judy Stakee signed her to Warner Chappell Publishing. Her songs are described as story-driven, combining the beats she heard from passing cars outside her East Village apartment with the influence of the coast where she was raised; the listing also points to swirling guitars and mellow beats. Interview Magazine called her “the real thing,” and the new single opens the next chapter of that solo catalog.

Soapbox Gallery offers a focused space for improvised and experimental music, where the room’s modest size brings the audience close to the performers, allowing every nuance of sound to be heard clearly. The venue features a simple setup with seating that encourages attentive listening rather than casual socializing, creating an environment where the music takes precedence. A bar is available, but the emphasis remains on the performances, which often include multiple sets and collaborations among artists. Shows are ticketed, and the venue supports a range of creative projects, including festivals and workshops, reflecting its commitment to artistic development. Expect an evening of thoughtful, boundary-pushing music in a setting that invites deep engagement with the sounds and the artists behind them.
