Bill Dobrow LIVE at Roxy Bar

Roxy Bar2 Avenue of the Americas, New York 10013

Bill Dobrow brings a changing ensemble to Roxy Bar for an evening shaped by his collaborations in jazz improvisation and by his work crafting music for singers across a range of styles. This is not a fixed-band billing: the personnel evolves, drawing on local and international players, so the focus is on Dobrow’s musical direction and the particular group assembled for the night.

Originally from West Hartford, Connecticut, Dobrow is a New York City drummer, percussionist, producer and bandleader. His touring and recording credits include The Black Crowes, Sean Lennon, Yoko Ono, Norah Jones, Martha Wainwright, Lisa Loeb, Jesse Harris and Joseph Arthur & The New Professionals. He has also appeared with Patti Smith, Rhymefest, Anthony Wilson and Vinicius Cantuaria, and has played festival dates with Valerie June. In Brazil, he can be heard on chart-topping recordings by Maria Gadú and Tiago Iorc. His production work includes Jesse Harris’s Sub Rosa, while his composing credits span film and television, from the theme for Dragon Tales to Outliving Emily and the documentary Sweet Micky For President.

Roxy Bar offers a stylish setting where live jazz fills the air, accompanied by a menu that caters to diverse tastes including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. The room features plush seating and a well-stocked bar, creating a comfortable environment to enjoy performances by resident musicians or special guests. Shows typically run in the evening with sets from 6pm to 10pm, followed by DJs spinning vinyl late into the night. Weekend brunches also feature live music, blending dining and entertainment seamlessly. The venue balances attentive service with a relaxed vibe, making it a place to savor both cocktails and music without distraction. Its location in Tribeca adds a downtown charm, inviting guests to linger over oysters or a crafted cocktail while soaking in the sounds.
