Strawberry Fields brings its Beatles tribute show to City Winery NYC on September 27. The four-piece band recreates the group’s music with full costumes, vintage instruments and period-style amplification, moving chronologically through the Beatles catalog. The performance is part of the group’s regular Ultimate Beatles Brunch series at City Winery, pairing the live set with the venue’s brunch setting.
Based in New York City, Strawberry Fields includes cast members from Broadway and touring productions of Beatlemania. The group has built its show around the sound and visual detail of the Beatles’ live years, and held a long-running Beatles Brunch at BB King’s in Times Square for 18 consecutive years, described as the longest-running Beatles show on Broadway. Their appearances have ranged from Shea Stadium and Citi Field to Fenway Park, Yankee Stadium and Prudential Center Arena. They have also worked with Steve Holly, drummer for Paul McCartney, as well as Billy J. Kramer, Tony Sheridan and Pete Best. Reviewers say the band continues to “wow fans even after three decades,” praising performances that are faithful and engaging.
City Winery at Pier 57 is a restaurant winery with live music on an intimate stage, offering a full evening experience that combines dinner, wine, and live music. The venue features two performance spaces: a seated 350-seat concert hall and a smaller 150-capacity loft space, with a 100-seat restaurant including a pizza bar and coffee roasting station.
