Tanya Moberly: Repertoire With Jon Weber

Don't Tell Mama343 West 46th Street, New York 10036

Tanya Moberly brings her Repertoire series to Don’t Tell Mama with pianist Jon Weber. This is a cabaret set built around songs by Bill Martin, Eric Idle, Gus Kahn, Irving Berlin, Randy Newman, Harry Nilsson, the Beatles and Walter Donaldson, with more in the mix. Weber is Moberly’s accompanist for the evening, continuing a partnership that has also included programs devoted to Nilsson’s songs.

Moberly has performed in cabaret since 1997 and was a 2025 MAC Award winner for Major Female Artist. Her 2024 debut album, I Love New York Songwriters, followed shows focused on the work of individual writers. Her recurring Repertoire format pairs her with different musical directors for sets with “different vibes,” as BroadwayWorld put it. That publication has praised Moberly’s “powerful voice and stage presence,” while Cabaret Scenes, reviewing an earlier show with Weber, wrote that she “has a wide-ranging talent.”

Don't Tell Mama offers a distinctive cabaret experience with four separate spaces including a piano bar and two cabaret showrooms, where bartenders and servers often perform live music themselves. The venue features Mediterranean cuisine alongside a full bar, with a cash-only policy for food and drinks. Seating is limited and first come, first served, so arriving early is wise to secure a spot. Shows typically start in the evening with a 2-drink minimum and ticketed entry, often featuring multiple sets and a mix of seasoned headliners and rising talent. The room’s walls and layout create a close connection between performers and audience, making it a place to truly listen and engage with the music. Located on Restaurant Row in the Theater District, it blends dining and entertainment in a lively yet focused setting.
