Who’s Live Today?

Jon Regen LIVE at Roxy Bar

Roxy Bar2 Avenue of the Americas, New York 10013

Jon Regen brings a live solo set to Roxy Bar, singing and playing piano alongside the room’s cocktails and oysters. The Sunday performance is part of his regular Sunday and Monday engagement at the Tribeca bar, a format that places his songwriter material and piano playing at the heart of the evening.

A singer, songwriter and pianist, Regen first worked as a sideman with jazz artists including Kyle Eastwood and Little Jimmy Scott after studying under pianist Kenny Barron. He released instrumental jazz records before moving into singer-songwriter work, and has recorded with Andy Summers, Benmont Tench, Chuck Leavell and Nick Rhodes. His 2023 album Satisfied Mind features Ron Carter, Rob Thomas and Pino Palladino; Jamie Cullum premiered its title track on BBC Radio 2, while Jazz FM named it Album of the Week. The Telegraph heard “a young Billy Joel singing Bill Withers songs with a tumble of perfectly chilled piano notes,” and the Associated Press praised his “sturdy songs, pleasing tenor and seven-foot grand.”

Roxy Bar offers a stylish setting where live jazz fills the air, accompanied by a menu that caters to diverse tastes including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. The room features plush seating and a well-stocked bar, creating a comfortable environment to enjoy performances by resident musicians or special guests. Shows typically run in the evening with sets from 6pm to 10pm, followed by DJs spinning vinyl late into the night. Weekend brunches also feature live music, blending dining and entertainment seamlessly. The venue balances attentive service with a relaxed vibe, making it a place to savor both cocktails and music without distraction. Its location in Tribeca adds a downtown charm, inviting guests to linger over oysters or a crafted cocktail while soaking in the sounds.
