Ripple Allstars
The Bitter End147 Bleecker Street, New York 10012
Ripple Allstars are billed at The Bitter End as a five-piece featuring Rennie Pincus and Colin Taber on guitar and vocals, Jordan Goldstein on keyboards and vocals, Scott Gibson on drums and vocals, and Ray Kairys on bass. Their sets draw on Grateful Dead material and related songs by Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, the Allman Brothers Band and Eric Clapton, with room for extended ensemble playing and vocal harmonies.
The group comes from the tri-state scene and formed around a monthly residency at The Bitter End in 2023. They have also appeared at Garcia’s at the Capitol Theatre, Hill Country and the Great South Bay Festival. Garcia’s describes the band as five “seasoned musicians,” highlighting “great grooves, smoky jams and a nice blend from their four vocalists.”
The Bitter End has been a fixture of Greenwich Village since 1961, known as one of New York City's oldest rock clubs. It's a modest basement club with a stage and a bar, where the audience sits close to the performers. The room has exposed brick walls and a rustic feel, and the atmosphere is warm and conversational. Shows are typically ticketed with a small cover charge, and the evening combines listening to live music with casual conversation and drinks. The venue has hosted legends like Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell, and continues to be a place where songwriters and musicians share new material. It's a steady, reliable spot for live music in the city.
