FKAjazz Trio+ w/ Moto Fukushima & Vicky Casis
Nublu 151151 Avenue C, New York 10009
FKAjazz Trio+ plays Nublu 151 in Manhattan with Moto Fukushima and Vicky Casis. Billed as a trio-plus configuration, the set brings the core group together with those two named collaborators. The show takes place at Nublu 151, the second-floor East Village club at 151 Avenue C. Its compact room is mostly standing space, with a balcony overlooking the performers, a few stools, solid acoustics and a disco ball. The venue presents live music and DJs across jazz, funk, Latin grooves, electronic and world music, and also runs its own record label.
The billing identifies FKAjazz Trio+ as the evening’s lead act and Moto Fukushima and Vicky Casis as the additional performers, but provides no further lineup credits, repertoire, release, guest feature or occasion for the set. No origin, musical background, recordings, prior collaborators or critical notices for FKAjazz Trio+ are included in the available material. The same material does not specify which instruments the trio members, Fukushima or Casis play, so the useful detail here is the billed format itself: a trio expanded for this Nublu 151 appearance by two named collaborators.
A second-floor club in the East Village, Nublu 151 is a compact space with a center stage and a balcony that overlooks the performers. The room is dark and grungy with solid acoustics and a disco ball, mostly standing room with a few stools that disappear quickly. The atmosphere is intimate and focused on music, with live sets and DJs spanning jazz, funk, Latin grooves, electronic, and world music. The building's layout supports diverse live performances, and the venue has its own record label. It's a place where musicians gather to play, attracting a crowd of music lovers and creatives. The vibe is laid-back, with a good attitude and openness to different styles going a long way.
