The Pocket130 West 46th Street, New York 10036

ARTEMIS brings its current five-piece lineup to The Pocket: founder Renee Rosnes on piano, Ingrid Jensen on trumpet, Nicole Glover on tenor saxophone, Noriko Ueda on bass, and Allison Miller on drums. The multinational, multigenerational jazz ensemble will draw from a body of music shaped by its members’ original compositions and arrangements of classic material. Their third Blue Note release, Arboresque, places both approaches side by side, with writing from every member.

Founded by Rosnes in 2017 and named for the Greek goddess, ARTEMIS is made up of musicians who are each established bandleaders with substantial bodies of work. The group appeared on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series in May 2025 and has since performed at major festivals and venues internationally. NPR called it “a killer line-up of players, composers and performers” converging on an “extremely cosmopolitan, sleek, rhythm-forward, modern sound.” The Guardian named Arboresque among its Top Ten Jazz Albums of 2025, praising its “cliché-free individuality and congenial collective spirit radiantly combined.” DownBeat readers voted ARTEMIS Jazz Group of the Year in 2023, 2024, and 2025; the Jazz Journalists Association named it Mid-Size Ensemble of the Year in 2024 and 2025.

The Pocket offers a close-up encounter with world-class jazz musicians in a small, focused setting where every note feels immediate and unfiltered. The room is designed to bring listeners near the performers, creating a direct connection that makes the music feel personal and vivid. Seating is limited and arranged to emphasize attentive listening rather than casual socializing, with a bar available to complement the experience. Shows are ticketed, encouraging an audience that is there to fully engage with the performance. The venue’s location in Manhattan places it within easy reach of the city’s vibrant cultural pulse, making it a perfect spot for an evening dedicated to serious jazz appreciation without distractions.
