Patrick Wolf: Tour Of The Beast with special guest Abhora
Drom85 Avenue A, New York 10009
Patrick Wolf brings his Tour of the Beast to Drom, with special guest Abhora. The tour launches two new songs in the US: “The Beast,” described as a harpsichord-driven outsider anthem, and “The Laughing Dove,” a lyre-and-vocal lullaby. Wolf’s set draws on the classical, folk and electronic currents that have shaped his work.
The English singer-songwriter has released seven self-written, self-produced albums and plays viola, piano, dulcimer, harp, lyre and tenor guitar. He has toured with Patti Smith’s band and collaborated with Florence Welch, Marianne Faithfull and Angelo Badalamenti. The Guardian called him “The Goth Folk Pioneer, A true one off,” while The New York Times named him “One of Britains most appealing singer songwriters.”
Drom offers a richly textured experience where music from around the world fills a compact, warmly lit room in Manhattan's East Village. Shows here often highlight cultural diversity, ranging from jazz and electronic to soul and world music, creating a night where attentive listening blends with socializing over drinks. Seating is available but limited, encouraging a close connection to the performers. Events typically start in the evening, with ticketing details varying by show, so planning ahead can enhance the experience.
