Paris Bossa Nova presents Jobim at Carnegie Hall 1962

Chelsea Table + Stage152 W 26th St, New York 10001

Paris-based singer and guitarist Ramsay Rawson marks Antonio Carlos Jobim’s centennial with saxophonist Zé Luis in a program inspired by the landmark 1962 Live at Carnegie Hall concert. The evening also celebrates Rawson’s Paris Bossa Nova, Vol. 1, moving from bossa nova standards to lesser-known selections in Portuguese, French, and English.

Rawson’s project traces the musical exchange between France and Brazil in the 1960s, bringing Brazilian rhythms together with jazz improvisation and French chanson. Zé Luis has collaborated with Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, and Bebel Gilberto.
