National Sawdust presents an LPR Presents bill led by S. Carey, with support from Hrishikesh Hirway, on December 6. The available information identifies the two artists on the program but does not specify the players’ formations, repertory, guest performers, or whether the evening has a release, residency, tribute, or other special focus. It is a two-act evening in National Sawdust’s main hall, a flexible performance room that seats up to 185 people.
The material provided does not include biographical background, hometowns, previous collaborators, recordings, or reviews for either S. Carey or Hrishikesh Hirway, so there is no basis here for a fuller account of their work. National Sawdust is in Brooklyn and occupies a former sawdust factory. Its main hall combines raw brick walls with crystalline architectural elements and uses a Meyer spatial sound system designed to place sound around the room. The venue presents artists across a range of genres, including emerging and established performers, with the performance itself kept as the focus of the room.
