Who’s Live Today?

Vanessa Collier

The Iridium1650 Broadway, New York 10019

Vanessa Collier brings her blues-rooted show to The Iridium. A singer, saxophonist and songwriter, she leads music that draws on blues, funk, soul and rock, with fiery vocals and gritty saxophone solos.

Born in Texas, raised in Maryland and launched professionally in Philadelphia, Collier is a four-time Blues Music Award winner. She toured with Joe Louis Walker before her solo career, and has worked with guitarist Laura Chavez and organist Rev. Charles Hodges. Reviewers have called her sax “mighty” and praised her “indisputable virtuosity”; the Boston Globe described her live shows as “scorching… infectious.”

The Iridium offers a nightly showcase of jazz, rock, and blues in a space designed for serious music lovers. The venue features a full dining experience alongside its live performances, allowing you to enjoy a meal while soaking in the sounds. The room is arranged to focus attention on the stage, with seating that invites you to settle in and listen closely to the musicians. Shows are ticketed, and the audience is there to engage deeply with the music rather than just socialize. The venue’s connection to legendary guitarist Les Paul adds a layer of history that enriches the experience. Expect an evening where the music takes center, supported by attentive service and a well-curated atmosphere that respects the art on display.
