PIERRE BENSUSAN - THE INFINITE GUITAR TOUR 2026

The Bitter End147 Bleecker Street, New York 10012

Pierre Bensusan brings The Infinite Guitar Tour 2026 to The Bitter End for a solo performance centered on acoustic guitar, with voice sometimes part of the set. The French-Algerian guitarist, vocalist and composer is known for performing exclusively in DADGAD tuning, the altered guitar tuning that earned him the nickname “Mister DADGAD.” This is a chance to hear that approach in a focused one-player setting, following the shapes of his compositions through fingerstyle detail, resonance and melodic movement.

Bensusan’s work draws together traditional, contemporary, jazz, classical and world-music elements. He won the Rose d’Or at Montreux for his debut album, received the Independent Music Award for Best Live Album for Encore, and was voted Best World Music Guitarist in a Guitar Player readers’ poll. Steve Vai released three of his albums on Favored Nations, while Bensusan has also collaborated in the studio with Donny Osmond. AllMusic singled out his “speed, flair, touch and expressiveness”; Acoustic Guitar praised his “variety of tones and textures,” observing that he can make intricate ideas “sound perfectly effortless.” Guitar Player editor James Volpe Rotondi called him “a true giant.”

The Bitter End has been a fixture of Greenwich Village since 1961, known as one of New York City's oldest rock clubs. It's a modest basement club with a stage and a bar, where the audience sits close to the performers. The room has exposed brick walls and a rustic feel, and the atmosphere is warm and conversational. Shows are typically ticketed with a small cover charge, and the evening combines listening to live music with casual conversation and drinks. The venue has hosted legends like Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell, and continues to be a place where songwriters and musicians share new material. It's a steady, reliable spot for live music in the city.
