Who’s Live Today?

Action Bronson & Human Growth Hormone

Le Poisson Rouge168B Bleecker Street, New York 10012

Action Bronson brings Human Growth Hormone, his full live band, to Le Poisson Rouge for a live set. The billing presents Bronson’s rap in the expanded format of band accompaniment, rather than as a solo performance; no individual players or further guests are listed for the night.

Queens-born and described by LPR as a New York rapper, Bronson is known for lingual versatility, poetic flow and songs built as “a series of sketched vignettes.” His work pairs that detail with vivid storytelling and a charismatic stage presence, according to NYS Music. Human Growth Hormone is based in New York and has contributed to Bronson’s recorded work as well as his concerts: the band handled some of the noisier material on Planet Frog, produced alongside Kenny Beats, and appears as a featured act on “Chutney.” Saxophonist Matt “Yung Mehico” Carrillo and guitarist Julian Love are named among its members. Reviewing a previous performance, NYS Music found the group “an important part of the performance rather than simply serving as a backing band.”

Le Poisson Rouge offers a versatile space where artistry meets nightlife, with a capacity of around 700 and a modular stage that adapts to diverse performances. The venue blends seated classical concerts with standing rock or DJ sets, creating a dynamic flow throughout the evening. Its design, by Walters-Storyk Design Group, ensures excellent acoustics and sightlines, allowing you to catch every detail from the front row to the back. The adjacent Gallery Bar provides a quieter spot with a small stage, perfect for more intimate moments. Expect a night that can shift from focused listening to lively dancing, with a full bar available but no full restaurant. Shows are ticketed, and buying ahead is recommended. The venue’s rich programming spans classical, indie, jazz, and more, reflecting its founders’ vision to fuse popular and art cultures in a single vibrant setting.
