Blake Morgan
The Bitter End147 Bleecker Street, New York 10012
Blake Morgan brings his ongoing Bitter End residency back to the Greenwich Village club for one of three distinct New York performances running from February through May 2027. The concert series presents Morgan both with his full band and solo, and includes special guests across its run. Expect the focus to fall on his musicianship, storytelling and songwriting, with the changing formats making each residency date its own proposition.
Morgan is a New York City-based indie-rock artist and the founder of the artist-centric label ECR Music Group. His work balances studio craft with what AllMusic Guide calls “a gift for pairing biting post-punk with AM pop.” He has logged more than 220 performances and sold-out concerts over 250,000 miles of touring on both sides of the Atlantic. The New York Times called him “Disarmingly unselfconscious”; The Washington Post praised his “Killer Pop-Rock instincts”; and Beyond the Stage Magazine described him as “A revered New York indie-music figure.”
The Bitter End has been a fixture of Greenwich Village since 1961, known as one of New York City's oldest rock clubs. It's a modest basement club with a stage and a bar, where the audience sits close to the performers. The room has exposed brick walls and a rustic feel, and the atmosphere is warm and conversational. Shows are typically ticketed with a small cover charge, and the evening combines listening to live music with casual conversation and drinks. The venue has hosted legends like Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell, and continues to be a place where songwriters and musicians share new material. It's a steady, reliable spot for live music in the city.
