Rigometrics with Nick Prato
Groove125 West 3rd Street, New York 10012
Rigometrics comes to Groove billed with Nick Prato for a live set from the Portland, Maine three-piece. The band brings its working live arrangement: Josef Berger on guitar, Derek Haney on drums, and Keenan Hendricks on vocals and piano, with the piano also handling bass duties. Their set draws from a catalog that includes the 2026 album The Rigossance Era, 2025’s Live in Maine II, the Elodie EP, the live album Live in Maine, the No Time to Waste EP, and their 2022 debut Rig N’ Roll.
Formed in late 2021, Rigometrics has built its reputation on extensive touring across the East Coast and South, with more than 450 shows behind it. The group’s music brings together classic-rock soul, funk and blues grit, indie hooks, and modern-alternative urgency, shaped around Berger’s guitar, Haney’s groove-driven drumming, and Hendricks’ vocals and piano. Their releases have involved producers Jon Wyman, Matt Perry, and Anthony Gatti, alongside Grammy winners Dave Gutter, Adam Ayan, and ‘Bassy’ Bob Brockmann. After touring first in a renovated school bus, the band now travels in a dedicated van, carrying a road-tested approach to its songs into the room.
Groove offers a lively setting where music lovers gather to enjoy a range of live performances, often featuring multiple sets that stretch into the night. The venue’s space is designed for standing audiences, creating an energetic environment where the music takes center focus. A well-stocked bar serves as the hub for socializing before and after shows, while ticketing varies from free entry to modest cover charges, with advance purchase recommended for popular acts. The venue’s location in Manhattan places it within easy reach of the city’s vibrant nightlife, making it a natural stop for an evening out. Expect a night where the music pulses through the room, the crowd is engaged, and the energy builds as the night progresses, often with late-night jams or DJ sets extending the experience.
