The Fab Faux, The Hogshead Horns
City Winery NYCHudson River Park Esplanade, New York 10014
The Fab Faux bring their Horn Songs! program to City Winery NYC with the Hogshead Horns, the third night of the group’s four-show run at the venue. The evening is devoted to Beatles songs with horn arrangements, expanding the band’s five-piece setup with the Hogshead Horns’ four-piece section. It follows full-album performances of Rubber Soul and A Hard Day’s Night on the preceding nights, before the run concludes with a New Year’s Eve rock and roll dance party.
From New York City, The Fab Faux are Jimmy Vivino, Rich Pagano, Frank Agnello, Jack Petruzzelli and Jim Boggia. They are committed to the accurate reproduction of the Beatles repertoire, with particular attention to the elaborate later studio material the Beatles did not play live. Members have associations with Conan, David Letterman, Rosanne Cash, Roger Waters, Joan Osborne, Patti Smith, Rufus Wainwright, Phoebe Snow and Marshall Crenshaw. The Hogshead Horns include alumni of the Blues Brothers, Blood, Sweat & Tears and Saturday Night Live bands. Rolling Stone called the Fab Faux “The greatest Beatles cover band...without the wigs,” while David Fricke wrote that they “invigorate the artistry of even the Beatles’ most intricate studio masterpieces with top chops and Beatlemaniac glee.”
