Frank Catalano's Love Supreme Collective
Groove125 West 3rd Street, New York 10012
Frank Catalano brings his Love Supreme Collective, billed as an all-star band, for a program marking 10 years of his chart-topping Love Supreme Collective album and the 60th anniversary of John Coltrane’s A Love Supreme. The set also includes material from Catalano’s Billboard-charting Set Me Free, classics associated with his work with Tony Bennett, and a few surprises.
Chicago-based saxophonist Catalano leads a Coltrane-influenced project that Jazz Weekly called “concise, energized and sweet.” His 2014 Love Supreme Collective featured Jimmy Chamberlin, Percy Jones and Adam Benjamin, while Catalano’s wider collaborations include David Sanborn, Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, John Legend, Tony Bennett and Seal.
