Who’s Live Today?

Freddy DeBoe Band

The Django2 6th Avenue, New York 10013

Freddy DeBoe Band brings a late-night five-piece set to The Django, led by DeBoe on saxophone. Guitarist Al Street, organist Ben Stivers, percussionist Moses Patrou, and drummer Evan Pazner complete the lineup. The program is built around DeBoe’s soulful blues and rock & roll saxophone sound, with the band framing his feel-good, good-times repertoire.

DeBoe is a NYC-based bandleader who continues to tour internationally while performing locally. His work has taken him around the world with leading soul singers, and he has appeared onstage and in the studio with Charles Bradley, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Lee Fields & the Expressions, the James Hunter Six, Peter Gabriel, Macy Gray, Mary J Blige, George Clinton, George Duke, Scone Cash Players, Ian Hendrickson Smith, and Lonnie Smith. That range places this band date in the overlap of soul revue experience, blues-rooted saxophone, and rock & roll drive.

The Django offers a subterranean jazz experience inspired by Parisian boîtes, with vaulted ceilings and exposed brick walls that frame a stage equipped with a state-of-the-art Meyer Sound system. The venue combines two cocktail bars and an open dining area where you can enjoy an elevated menu alongside live performances every night. The evening unfolds with a focus on attentive listening, enhanced by award-winning cocktails crafted by Natasha David and a selection of small plates and dinner options. Shows require a cover charge and reservations are recommended to secure your spot. The setting invites you to settle in for a night of rich jazz sounds, fine food, and carefully mixed drinks, all within the cellar level of the Roxy Hotel, creating a distinct mood that feels both exclusive and welcoming.
