Tim Brey

Tim Brey brings a holiday program to Dizzy’s Club with Rast and Landham, working in a trio format. The late-night set revisits seasonal standards from the group’s 2016 release Unwrap, marking that record’s tenth anniversary, while introducing new arrangements from their 2026 release Snowed In. Rather than a general holiday playlist, the evening is built around the trio’s own ongoing book of reworked classics and newly recorded material.
Philadelphia-based pianist and composer Tim Brey leads both trio and sextet projects, with work that has moved between jazz standards, bebop, electric jazz fusion, hip-hop, R&B, and house. He has performed with Terell Stafford, Samara Joy, Renée Fleming, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Veronica Swift, Peter Bernstein, and Kurt Rosenwinkel. His 2022 leader album News presented an expanding compositional vision for sextet. WRTI called Brey one of Philadelphia’s “most in-demand pianists” and, reviewing News, highlighted its “catchy” groove, the “cohesive blend” of piano, guitar, and NuEVI, and the rhythm section’s drive.
Dizzy's Club offers a refined jazz experience with a seating capacity of about 140, where guests enjoy live performances from world-class musicians in a room that frames sweeping views of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline. The venue features a full bar and a seasonal menu with sophisticated soul food, enhancing the evening beyond just the music. Shows are ticketed and typically run two sets per night, with late-night sessions available without reservation. The seating is generally first-come, first-served, encouraging early arrival for the best vantage points. The club’s location within Jazz at Lincoln Center places it in a lively cultural hub, making it ideal for a night that blends attentive listening with the pleasure of fine dining and cityscape views.
