Hector Martignon Trio LIVE at Roxy Bar

Roxy Bar2 Avenue of the Americas, New York 10013

Hector Martignon brings his trio to Roxy Bar in TriBeCa for a live set alongside the bar’s cocktails and American fare. The Colombian pianist and composer returns to the room with a program shaped by the musical crosscurrents that have defined his work: jazz improvisation in conversation with Classical European music, Latin American folklore and world music.

Martignon is an acclaimed Colombian pianist and composer whose albums Refugee from 2007 and Second Chance from 2010 received Grammy nominations. His work is known for crossbreeding jazz’s improvisational language with several musical idioms, rather than treating those traditions as separate lanes. The Smithsonian Institution includes him in its Latin Jazz exhibit among leading artists “exploring the regional sources of Latin Jazz,” a useful guide to the breadth and particular focus of his music.

Roxy Bar offers a stylish setting where live jazz fills the air, accompanied by a menu that caters to diverse tastes including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. The room features plush seating and a well-stocked bar, creating a comfortable environment to enjoy performances by resident musicians or special guests. Shows typically run in the evening with sets from 6pm to 10pm, followed by DJs spinning vinyl late into the night. Weekend brunches also feature live music, blending dining and entertainment seamlessly. The venue balances attentive service with a relaxed vibe, making it a place to savor both cocktails and music without distraction. Its location in Tribeca adds a downtown charm, inviting guests to linger over oysters or a crafted cocktail while soaking in the sounds.
