Chris Bergson Quartet LIVE at Roxy Bar

Chris Bergson brings his quartet to Roxy Bar in TriBeCa for a live two-set evening. Bergson leads on guitar and vocals, joined by tenor saxophonist Michael Blake, bassist Dan Loomis, and drummer Matt Wilson. The billed program puts the guitarist, singer and songwriter in a compact band setting, alongside cocktails and American fare.

Bergson is an internationally acclaimed guitarist, singer and songwriter, best known as leader of the Chris Bergson Band. Jim Hall called him “among the best of the young jazz guitarists,” while MOJO dubbed him “the New York street poet with a blues soul.” ROLL Magazine heard a guitarist who “plays the kind of guitar you can build a house on,” describing the sound as “B.B. meets Steve Cropper meets John Scofield.” His collaborators span Norah Jones, Annie Ross, Al Foster, Levon Helm, Hubert Sumlin, Bernard Purdie and The Blues Project. Appointed a Jazz Ambassador of the USA by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, he toured eight West African countries with his trio. He entered the New York Blues Hall of Fame as a Master Blues Artist in 2015 and teaches guitar as an associate professor at Boston’s Berklee College of Music.
