Who’s Live Today?

Bill Dobrow LIVE at Roxy Bar

Roxy Bar2 Avenue of the Americas, New York 10013

Bill Dobrow brings a live set to Roxy Bar, built around the drummer, percussionist and producer’s ongoing downtown collaborations. The specific December 30 lineup has not been announced, but his Roxy Bar ensembles are shaped by jazz improvisation and by his work crafting music for singers across a range of styles. Rather than a fixed band, the personnel evolves from show to show, drawing on local and international players.

Originally from West Hartford, Connecticut, Dobrow lives in New York City and has become a regular presence in its downtown music scene, both leading his own groups and joining other artists. His touring and recording credits include The Black Crowes, Sean Lennon, Yoko Ono, Norah Jones, Martha Wainwright, Lisa Loeb and Jesse Harris. He has also appeared with Patti Smith, Rhymefest, Anthony Wilson and Vinicius Cantuaria, played festival dates with Valerie June, and co-produced Harris’s Sub Rosa. His work extends to film and television composition and recording, including music for Outliving Emily and Sweet Micky For President. Available material offers no independent performance reviews, though the venue describes him as acclaimed.

Roxy Bar offers a stylish setting where live jazz fills the air, accompanied by a menu that caters to diverse tastes including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. The room features plush seating and a well-stocked bar, creating a comfortable environment to enjoy performances by resident musicians or special guests. Shows typically run in the evening with sets from 6pm to 10pm, followed by DJs spinning vinyl late into the night. Weekend brunches also feature live music, blending dining and entertainment seamlessly. The venue balances attentive service with a relaxed vibe, making it a place to savor both cocktails and music without distraction. Its location in Tribeca adds a downtown charm, inviting guests to linger over oysters or a crafted cocktail while soaking in the sounds.
