The Pocket130 West 46th Street, New York 10036

ARTEMIS comes to The Pocket as a five-piece jazz ensemble: founder and pianist Renee Rosnes, trumpeter Ingrid Jensen, tenor saxophonist Nicole Glover, bassist Noriko Ueda, and drummer Allison Miller. The group brings together five established bandleaders and composers for a set shaped by original compositions from across the band alongside arrangements of classic material.

Founded by Rosnes in 2017, ARTEMIS is a New York jazz group described as multinational and multigenerational. Its third Blue Note release, Arboresque, was named among The Guardian’s Top Ten Jazz Albums of 2025, which praised its “cliché-free individuality and congenial collective spirit radiantly combined.” After a 2025 NPR Tiny Desk appearance, the band continued to play major festivals and venues worldwide. NPR called ARTEMIS “a killer line-up of players, composers and performers,” converging on an “extremely cosmopolitan, sleek, rhythm-forward, modern sound.” DownBeat readers voted the group Jazz Group of the Year in 2023, 2024, and 2025; the Jazz Journalists Association named it Mid-Size Ensemble of the Year in 2024 and 2025.

The Pocket offers a close-up encounter with world-class jazz musicians in a small, focused setting where every note feels immediate and unfiltered. The room is designed to bring listeners near the performers, creating a direct connection that makes the music feel personal and vivid. Seating is limited and arranged to emphasize attentive listening rather than casual socializing, with a bar available to complement the experience. Shows are ticketed, encouraging an audience that is there to fully engage with the performance. The venue’s location in Manhattan places it within easy reach of the city’s vibrant cultural pulse, making it a perfect spot for an evening dedicated to serious jazz appreciation without distractions.
