Tatiana Eva Marie: Jazz in Paris

Birdland315 West 44th Street, New York 10036

Tatiana Eva Marie brings her Jazz in Paris program to Birdland for a late set built around the sounds and songwriters that helped shape French jazz. The Brooklyn-based singer and bandleader approaches material associated with Django Reinhardt, Sidney Bechet, Cole Porter and other composers through original lyrics and arrangements, drawing together Parisian music, Gypsy songs and the Great American Songbook. No accompanying musicians are listed for this performance.

Swiss-born Eva-Marie lives between Paris and New York and is best known as the leader of the Avalon Jazz Band, whose Parisian “vintage” flair has drawn more than 70 million YouTube views. Her work is informed by her French and Balkan heritage, a love of Parisian art and music from the 1920s through the 1960s, New Orleans jazz and modern jazz. The New York Times has called her “the Gypsy-jazz Warbler,” while Vanity Fair described her as “a millennial shaking up the jazz scene.” She has also shared stages with Stéphane Wrembel, Harry Connick Jr. and Norah Jones.

Birdland offers a refined jazz experience in a room where the audience sits at tables close to the stage, allowing every note to reach you clearly. The venue features a full menu with dishes like New Orleans-style gumbo alongside a well-stocked bar, making it easy to enjoy a meal or drinks while listening. Each show is ticketed per set, encouraging focused listening as the music unfolds in roughly 45-minute segments. The club’s walls echo decades of jazz history, having hosted legends and continuing to attract top contemporary artists. Located in Manhattan’s Theater District, the space balances a serious music environment with the energy of a night out, where attentive audiences savor the performances without distraction. Booking ahead is essential, as the club fills quickly for its celebrated lineup.
