Kieran Brown Quartet
The Django2 6th Avenue, New York 10013
Vocalist Kieran Brown brings her quartet to The Django for a late-night set. Brown is joined by William Schwartzman on piano, Ilya Osachuk on bass and Max Marsillo on drums. The four-piece format puts Brown’s singing at the front of a working jazz rhythm section, with the performance presented as part of the venue’s live music and dining program.
Based in New York City since April 2023, Brown is a vocalist, composer and arranger whose work concentrates on jazz, R&B and the American Songbook. She has performed around the city with Konrad Paszkudski and Mike Karn, both former members of the John Pizzarelli Quartet, as well as pianist Emmet Cohen and drummer Joe Farnsworth. Brown regularly appears at New York jazz venues, including The Django, Birdland and Dizzy’s Club. Paris Move called her “an artist on the threshold of something remarkable,” praise that points to an artist developing a broad vocal identity across songbook material and contemporary influences.
The Django offers a subterranean jazz experience inspired by Parisian boîtes, with vaulted ceilings and exposed brick walls that frame a stage equipped with a state-of-the-art Meyer Sound system. The venue combines two cocktail bars and an open dining area where you can enjoy an elevated menu alongside live performances every night. The evening unfolds with a focus on attentive listening, enhanced by award-winning cocktails crafted by Natasha David and a selection of small plates and dinner options. Shows require a cover charge and reservations are recommended to secure your spot. The setting invites you to settle in for a night of rich jazz sounds, fine food, and carefully mixed drinks, all within the cellar level of the Roxy Hotel, creating a distinct mood that feels both exclusive and welcoming.
