Hayden Joseph -- "Disorganized," Live

Hayden Joseph brings Disorganized, his latest record, to Chelsea Table + Stage in a live solo singer-songwriter performance. The billed presentation is simply “Disorganized,” Live, with no additional performers or special guests announced, putting the focus on Joseph’s new material in the venue’s table-seated cabaret and supper-club room.

A South Carolina native, Joseph moved to New York City after years in Nashville’s country-music world and has described this chapter as a move beyond those roots. His songs have been variously framed as “Pop(ish),” pop-country, and a blend of modern country and mainstream pop, with writing that emphasizes inclusion and self-acceptance. An openly gay artist whose work has engaged directly with country music’s questions of diversity, he was called a “rising pop-country star” by Countrytown. Country Queer found “Prove Me Wrong” to be “a country-pop bop that’s super easy on the ears,” while describing “Country to Me” as “anthemic and assertive,” “a sweetly sung but surefooted declaration.” Reviewing his debut Different, Flyctory called it “a beautiful recording of nine songs” and “a very promising debut.”
