Who’s Live Today?

Peter Louis Octet

Shrine

The Peter Louis Octet brings its eight-piece New York jazz and Latin lineup to Shrine, playing original material and arrangements by guitarist, vocalist and composer Peter Louis Heilbroner, Michael Webster and Oscar Feldman. The group features Heilbroner with Feldman on alto saxophone and flute, Webster on tenor saxophone and flute, Fred Maxwell on trumpet, Matthew McDonald on trombone, Nanae Atarashi on piano and keyboards, Art Guevarra on bass, and John Marino on drums.

Members bring wide-ranging experience to the band: Feldman has worked with Paquito D’Rivera, Caribbean Jazz Project and Bebo Valdez; Webster has written and arranged for Arturo O’Farrill and Jon Benitez; Maxwell’s credits include Frank Sinatra, Alicia Keys and Tito Puente; McDonald has performed with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra; and Guevarra has toured with Phoebe Snow, Deodato and Bette Midler.

Shrine offers a dynamic live music experience in a space that accommodates both seated and standing audiences, with a hardwood dance floor that invites movement as much as listening. The venue supports independent artists across diverse genres, hosting multiple bands per night with a full backline and professional sound engineering. Walls often feature monthly art exhibitions, adding a visual dimension to the evening. A full bar and food menu are available, making it easy to settle in for the night. Shows typically run into the early hours, sometimes followed by DJs spinning global beats, creating a lively flow from live sets to dance parties. The venue also screens major sporting events, blending cultural and social experiences in a single spot.
