The Gregory Brothers

The Gregory Brothers bring their yearly Christmas-season concert to The Loft at City Winery NYC. The set draws together reimagined classic carols, American Songbook standards and original songs from their holiday album Sleigh Ride / Fireside. It is a seasonal program rather than a run through of their online work, built around familiar material recast by the brothers alongside their own tunes. Paste described Sleigh Ride / Fireside as sounding “like something Irving Berlin would have written for Rosemary Clooney to sing.”
The Gregory Brothers are known for the viral YouTube creations Auto-Tune the News and Songify This, whose videos have been watched more than one billion times. Their holiday repertoire gives a different frame to the work: song-based arrangements that connect carols and standards with their originals. For this December appearance, the group’s Sleigh Ride / Fireside material is the clearest guide to the night’s musical direction, with the Paste comparison pointing toward classic American pop songwriting and vintage vocal-pop associations.
