Jon Regen Quartet LIVE at Roxy Bar

Roxy Bar2 Avenue of the Americas, New York 10013

Jon Regen brings his quartet to Roxy Bar for a Thursday night of live music. The Roxy Bar resident is billed as singer, songwriter and pianist, with the quartet format placing him in a live band setting rather than a solo performance. The venue presents the date as part of Regen’s ongoing appearances in TriBeCa, where he is a regular musician.

Regen is a pianist and songwriter who first worked as a sideman with jazz artists including Kyle Eastwood and Little Jimmy Scott, after studying as a protégé of Kenny Barron. He made acclaimed instrumental jazz recordings before moving into singer-songwriter work, and has recorded with Andy Summers, Benmont Tench, Chuck Leavell and Nick Rhodes. His 2023 album Satisfied Mind, featuring Ron Carter, Rob Thomas and Pino Palladino, was named Album of the Week by Jazz FM; The Telegraph gave it four stars and wrote, “you are witnessing virtuosos at the height of their powers.” The Associated Press called his songs, tenor and piano “a captivating combination,” while The Wall Street Journal described him as “a confident, soulful singer.”

Roxy Bar offers a stylish setting where live jazz fills the air, accompanied by a menu that caters to diverse tastes including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. The room features plush seating and a well-stocked bar, creating a comfortable environment to enjoy performances by resident musicians or special guests. Shows typically run in the evening with sets from 6pm to 10pm, followed by DJs spinning vinyl late into the night. Weekend brunches also feature live music, blending dining and entertainment seamlessly. The venue balances attentive service with a relaxed vibe, making it a place to savor both cocktails and music without distraction. Its location in Tribeca adds a downtown charm, inviting guests to linger over oysters or a crafted cocktail while soaking in the sounds.
