Catalina Jazz Club6725 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles 90028
Hovhannes John Babakhanyan brings A New Life, A New Song to Catalina Jazz Club for an evening built around his voice and storytelling. Billed as a solo evening with the Armenian actor and singer, the program draws on jazz standards and timeless pop classics, with songs presented in seven languages. It is a chance to hear a performer whose concert work is shaped as much by dramatic interpretation as by vocal range.
Babakhanyan is an award-winning Armenian actor and singer based in Los Angeles, classically trained at the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan. Alongside concert appearances, his career spans theater, film and television, including more than 50 Hollywood projects and numerous international honors. His performances bring together a rich, expressive voice and an actor’s sense of narrative, connecting songs across cultures and generations. For this program, those qualities frame familiar standards and pop material as stories with their own emotional arc.
Catalina Jazz Club offers a refined evening where live jazz performances unfold in a room designed for attentive listening. The venue features a full-service restaurant and bar, encouraging guests to enjoy dinner before the show and drinks during the sets.
