Chasing Abbey bring their trio to El Rey Theatre. Their live show has been described as “exciting and explosive.”
The Tullamore group of Ronan Bell, Jonathan Byrne and Ted Conway build electronic production around influences from traditional Irish music, a fusion they call Trad House. Multi-instrumentalists, vocalists and producers, they are behind RTÉ Choice Music Prize Song of the Year winner “That Good Thing” and the platinum hit “Oh My Johnny (Banks of the Roses).”
El Rey’s distinction is written into its room: a 1936 Art Deco movie palace, still dressed with chandeliers and velvet, now used for live concerts. The theatre became a music venue in 1994, so a night here pairs a preserved historic interior with a working concert hall. Expect general-admission standing on the main floor unless your show’s ticket details say otherwise; some performances offer VIP table seating in the balcony. Doors typically open an hour before showtime, and support acts may be added closer to the date, so check the event listing before heading over. The venue has cashless concessions, and its FAQ points guests to a neighboring restaurant for a bite. It remains an active venue on Wilshire Boulevard in Miracle Mile.
