Formed in Atlanta in 2013, Kickin Valentina is a four-piece comprising D.K. Revelle on vocals, Heber Pampillon on guitar, Chris Taylor on bass and Jimmy Berdine on drums. The band describes its approach as rock ’n’ roll “stripped back to its foundation, 100% live, loud, and unapologetic.” Its album Imaginary Creatures debuted on five Billboard charts, and the group has toured and opened for Buckcherry, Queensrÿche, Pop Evil, Fozzy, Skid Row, Sebastian Bach, Doro, Kix and L.A. Guns. Reviews have not all agreed: Powerplay called Imaginary Creatures “Highly recommended,” while a Heavymetal.dk review praised the band’s command of hair-metal style but found The Revenge of Rock derivative.
