Pistol Grip marks its 25th anniversary at Alex’s Bar with a multi-band bill featuring Goners UK, Hamapple, and Bats in the Belfry. The night is framed as an anniversary show for Pistol Grip, while Bats in the Belfry brings a newer Los Angeles punk-rock connection to the bill. No further details about the sets, guests, or any release tied to the evening are available.
Bats in the Belfry is a Los Angeles-based rock ’n’ roll band formed in September 2024 following the death of The Generators frontman Doug Kane. The group includes longtime Generators bassist Ted Hahn, drummer Marco Duarte, and guitarist ANT. It describes its music as blending “driving punk rock energy with darker melodic textures,” carrying forward “the spirit of the Los Angeles punk rock underground.” Its touchstones include The Damned, T.S.O.L., Killing Joke, Lords of the New Church, Bad Religion, Christian Death, and The Generators. The band released “Chaos Reigns” / “Death Thrives on Misery” in May 2025, followed by “Love” that August; its debut album, Living Reality, has been announced without a release date.
Alex’s Bar pairs its punk-rock identity with a striking, blood-red interior and velvet paintings of Elvis and Mexican wrestlers; it also appeared as Fangtasia in True Blood. The room is a Long Beach bar and live-music venue, with the stage set into a corner and a spacious floor for shows. Expect amplified bands alongside the bar’s regular social life, rather than a concert room focused solely on quiet listening. The venue’s FAQ describes its commitment to an inclusive, accessible environment, and its site lists food pop-ups on a calendar, so food availability depends on the event. Show details and ticket arrangements can vary; check the listing for the performance you have found. Alex’s Bar is still operating at its longstanding East Anaheim Street address in Long Beach.
