A Perfect Circle
Hollywood BowlOdin Path, Los Angeles 90068
A Perfect Circle brings the Los Angeles band's alternative-rock catalog to the Hollywood Bowl. The group is built around vocalist Maynard James Keenan and guitarist Billy Howerdel, with songs including “Judith,” “3 Libras” and “The Hollow” among its best known.
Their 2000 debut, Mer de Noms, entered the Billboard 200 at No. 4 and was described as the highest-charting debut rock album of its time. Recent single “Starless,” produced by Howerdel and featuring longtime collaborator Josh Freese on drums, has been described as shifting between “muscular, guitar-driven intensity and delicate, intricate passages.”
The Hollywood Bowl is an expansive outdoor amphitheater that offers a unique blend of natural beauty and grand scale, seating up to 17,500 people under the open sky. The venue’s iconic shell-shaped bandstand projects sound across the tiered seating, allowing even those farthest back to catch the nuances of the performance. Arriving early lets you explore picnic areas where many bring their own food, or enjoy offerings from on-site concessions and bars. The audience settles into assigned seats, creating a shared focus on the music, which ranges from classical to contemporary. Evening shows often begin at sunset, with the sky shifting colors as the music unfolds, making the experience as much about the setting as the sound. The Hollywood Bowl remains a vibrant hub for live music in Los Angeles, blending history with a lively communal spirit.
