THE DOOHICKEYS LIVE IN HOLLYWOOD!
Three ClubsSanta Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles 90038
The Doohickeys bring their country music variety show to Three Clubs in Hollywood, with singing and writing duo Haley Spence Brown and Jack Hackett combining country songs and comedy. Their set is billed as an intentional blend of traditional and contemporary country, built around clever jokes and the pair’s distinctly silly sense of humor. Expect the songwriting and comic instincts to share the bill rather than sit in separate corners of the show.
Brown comes from Liberty, Missouri, where she grew up training horses and helping on her grandfather’s cattle farm; Hackett grew up in Atlanta in a Japanese-American household. They met at USC while working on the college TV station’s satirical news show, making sketches together before discovering a shared love of country music at a Halloween-season party in 2021 and starting to write their own songs. Their self-produced, tongue-in-cheek videos have drawn more than 50 million views. The duo has played the Bluebird Cafe, Desert 5 Spot and the United Theatre in Los Angeles, and appeared at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium supporting comedian Jim Jefferies.
The Three Clubs offers a distinctive night out with its dual-stage setup that hosts a range of live performances from comedy and burlesque to indie theatre and live music. The venue’s vintage Hollywood charm is evident in its classic cocktail bar and the Original Lounge, which blends old-school glamour with a 90s twist. Guests can enjoy expertly crafted seasonal drinks while settling into a space where the audience is close enough to catch every nuance of the performance. Shows are ticketed and often sell out, so planning ahead is wise. The vibe balances attentive listening with a lively social scene, making it a place to both appreciate the art and enjoy a night of engaging entertainment in the heart of Hollywood.
