Jerry’s Middle Finger [Night 2]
Jerry’s Middle Finger
Jerry’s Middle Finger returns to Pappy & Harriet’s for Night 2, bringing its tribute to the music of the Jerry Garcia Band. The Los Angeles group focuses on the JGB songbook rather than Grateful Dead material, shaping a set from the blues, reggae, Motown, gospel and psychedelic-rock currents that ran through Garcia’s band. With no further event details available, expect the night to be centered on that repertoire and its room for extended, danceable jams.
Formed in 2015 by professional musicians united by a love of Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead, Jerry’s Middle Finger is based in Los Angeles. Garrett Deloian is identified as the band’s lead vocalist and guitarist, while drummer Rodney Newman founded the group. Their live album Live at the Chapel San Francisco, May 30th, 2025 documents the band in concert. Coverage has included Relix, Grateful Web and JAMBASE, whose headline notes a Vallejo appearance with guest Melvin Seals. One concert reviewer wrote that Deloian’s solos “nailed the essence of Jerry,” while audience comments have called the group “very tight,” praising its “outstanding musicians,” lively jams, keyboards and backing vocals.
Pappy & Harriet’s began as the cantina on a 1940s Western film set, and that history still frames a night here: the venue sits among Pioneertown’s old movie-set facades, with the desert just beyond. It is a restaurant and live-music venue, with shows in indoor and outdoor spaces; the setting and touring acts make the trip feel tied to this particular outpost, rather than just a concert stop. Shows are ticketed, general admission and standing-room only, with ADA seating available at either stage. The restaurant is separate, serves food, and runs a first-come, first-served waitlist, so put your name down early if you want dinner; eating does not secure a show ticket. Check the event details for doors and weather, especially for an outdoor performance.
