Lodge Room104 Avenue 56, Los Angeles 90042

Wrabel headlines Lodge Room in Highland Park, with Hayley Warner featured on the bill. The night centers on the solo singer-songwriter’s current album, up above, his third full-length record and first as a co-producer. Its songs draw on themes of surrender, surreal beauty and radical acceptance, shaping a set built around introspective writing, emphatic melodies and a more experimental sonic direction.

Born in New York and based in Los Angeles, Stephen Wrabel performs as Wrabel, a piano-led pop artist known for emotionally candid songs including “11 Blocks” and “The Village.” The latter has become a defining LGBTQ+ anthem, noted for its raw empathy and enduring impact. Beyond his own work, he has writing or collaboration credits with Kesha, P!NK, Meghan Trainor, Teddy Swims, Celeste, Ellie Goulding and Madi Diaz; Afrojack recorded his song “Ten Feet Tall.” On up above, Wrabel worked with producer and co-writer Austin Ward and mixer Damian Taylor, building songs from ethereal textures and floating melodies. One review called the album “Revolutionary, no. High-quality, yes,” highlighting its gentle pop, songwriting, performances and production.

The Lodge Room offers a distinctive live music experience on the second floor of a building in Highland Park, where the room’s modest size brings the stage close to the audience, creating a direct connection with the performers. The venue features a bar but does not serve full meals, encouraging guests to focus on the music while enjoying drinks. Shows typically start in the evening, with doors opening around 7 pm and performances beginning an hour later, often including multiple sets or late-night shows. Seating is limited and generally first come first served, so arriving early can secure a good spot. The space’s walls and layout emphasize the music, making it a place to listen attentively while still allowing for a relaxed social vibe. This venue remains a lively part of the local music scene, hosting a range of artists and styles.
