Adam Ledbetter Trio

Birds of a Feather Jazz Lounge710 W 1st St, Los Angeles 90012

Adam Ledbetter brings his “In Concert As Himself” program to Birds of a Feather Jazz Lounge, billed as the Adam Ledbetter Trio. The Los Angeles pianist, composer, rapper and musical director leads an evening of original music, with Chris Lowery on trumpet and John Davis on drums; special guest Nell Ledbetter also appears. The set is described as rooted in jazz, shaped by hip-hop, lifted by Black church tradition and connected through storytelling. Part of the evening’s proceeds will go to a charity selected by the event.

Ledbetter is a Los Angeles-based musician whose early foundation in the Black church developed through work across jazz, gospel and hip-hop. Alongside his wife, he is one half of Adam & Kizzie, a band that has released three albums, toured internationally and finished as Top 3 finalists on Megastar, where they were mentored by Usher. A two-time Evelyn LaRue Pittman Award recipient for composition, Ledbetter has collaborated with Jason Marsalis, Delfeayo Marsalis, Albert “Tootie” Heath and DK The Drummer. He has also served as musical director for The DC6 Singers and DIVAS Simply Singing, and created the rap series Daily 8 and Barz & Boardz. A Catalina Jazz Club description calls his piano work expressive and groove-led, blending lyrical phrasing with rhythmic sophistication.

Birds of a Feather Jazz Lounge offers a 40-seat art deco space inside the award-winning Au Lac vegan restaurant, creating a distinct setting where jazz thrives without alcohol. The venue showcases a broad spectrum of jazz styles, from bebop and Latin to experimental and global influences, often featuring both established legends and emerging local talent. The room’s design invites focused listening, with seating arranged to bring the audience close to the performers, fostering a connection through music. Shows are ticketed and typically start around 7 PM, with a full vegan menu available and non-alcoholic cocktails served. The lounge supports charitable causes, adding a meaningful layer to the experience. Expect an evening of rich, diverse jazz in a refined yet relaxed environment that encourages attentive appreciation.
