Lau Noah x Adam Neely

Lau Noah, Adam Neely

Blue Note Los Angeles1492 Ivar Avenue, Los Angeles 90028

Lau Noah and Adam Neely bring their duo to Blue Note Los Angeles for a set built around the meeting of Noah’s classical acoustic guitar and Neely’s electric bass. Their music moves across jazz, progressive rock, Spanish folk, classical music and Americana, with Noah’s singing and contrapuntal guitar writing at its core. The pair’s debut EP, The Way Under, frames a collaboration the listing describes as marked by an uncanny musical connection, virtuosic sensitivity and a mischievous compositional style.

Noah comes from Catalonia, Spain, and is known for poetic compositions, singing and contrapuntal guitar. ArtYard calls her a “self-taught singer-songwriter and virtuoso guitarist”; her collaborators include Jacob Collier, Chris Thile and Jorge Drexler. Neely is a bassist, composer and YouTube music educator, also known for Sungazer. His work has included Sungazer, Button Masher, Plini and Joshua de la Victoria. Together, Noah and Neely have taken this duo format through jazz clubs, neighborhood bars and classical halls in the US and Europe, bringing two sharply defined musical voices into close conversation.

A small, dimly lit basement club tucked into a Hollywood corner, Blue Note Los Angeles is a dedicated jazz and live music space with a long-standing reputation for intimate, high-quality performances. The room is modest, with a few rows of seats facing a stage where the music is the focus. It's a place to listen, not to socialize, with the audience often quiet, absorbed in the musicians. Drinks are available, but the atmosphere is centered on the music. Shows are ticketed, with multiple sets each night, and the evening unfolds with a steady rhythm of live music, not casual conversation.
