Dave Hause & The Mermaid
The Peppermint Club8713 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles 90048
Dave Hause & The Mermaid bring Hause’s full-band rock project to The Peppermint Club. The billed group is led by singer-songwriter Dave Hause, with his touring band The Mermaid: brother Tim Hause on guitar and vocals, Luke Preston on bass, Mark Masefield on keyboards, and Kevin Conroy on drums. Expect a plugged-in set built around the band’s straight-ahead, raw, guitar-driven approach, rather than a solo performance.
Hause is a Philly-bred, California-based singer-songwriter and former leader of the Philadelphia punk band The Loved Ones. After his solo work, The Mermaid became the vehicle for a return to full-band rock, combining his “signature lyrical elan and gift for surging melodies” with what one profile calls “sharp musical elbows.” Their album …And The Mermaid, released on Hause’s Blood Harmony label, was co-produced in Vancouver with Jesse Gander, engineer and mixer associated with Japandroids and White Lung; it also includes a cover of Rise Against’s Tim McIlrath’s “Bible Passages.” Maximum Volume Music heard “attitude, melody, and heart” and called it possibly Hause’s finest, while a 2026 live review described the band as “personal,” with “raw vocals and a powerful delivery.”
The Peppermint Club offers a sleek, modern setting where the focus is firmly on the music and the performers. The room features a well-designed layout with a bar serving a curated menu of drinks, creating a space where the audience can enjoy the show while socializing comfortably. Seating is available but limited, encouraging a mix of standing and sitting that keeps the energy dynamic without overwhelming conversation. Shows are ticketed, so securing your spot ahead is wise, and the venue often hosts multiple sets or late-night performances, making for a full evening of entertainment. The club’s polished yet approachable vibe makes it a distinctive spot for discovering new sounds or enjoying established acts in West Hollywood’s lively scene.
