THE TOLEDO SHOW
Harvelle's Santa Monica1432 4th Street, Los Angeles
The Toledo Show centers on Toledo’s blend of soulful vocals, spoken word, jazz, funk and dance, with funky bass lines, horns and choreographed performance all part of the bill’s description of the night.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Toledo began as a dancer and choreographer, working with artists including Janet Jackson, Diana Ross, Al Green, George Michael and Smokey Robinson. His choreography for Us3’s “Cantaloup” received an MTV Video Award nomination, before his music developed from improvising on the city’s underground poetry circuit. The Los Angeles Times called him “The coolest Cat working in Hollywood,” while descriptions of his work have ranged from “avant jazz” and “funked-up spoken word” to “smokey-storyteller” R&B with jazzy rock-and-roll dance grooves.
Harvelle's Santa Monica is a live music venue with a full bar and food menu, offering a relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy a show and a drink. The space is intimate, with a small stage and audience seating that allows close proximity to the performers. Shows typically start around 8 PM and run until 10 PM, with multiple sets and karaoke options available. It's a place where music and conversation flow together, ideal for a casual evening out with friends or family.
